A Youth Sports Complex Built on a Simple Promise

Todd and Danielle Jakopovic opened the Elkhorn Youth Sports Association facility in October 2022 with a goal that has nothing to do with equipment specs: never turn away a student-athlete because their family can't afford to pay.

The facility they built to deliver on that promise? 60,000 square feet. Six full basketball courts. 36 ceiling-mounted hoops. And multi-sport flexibility that keeps the building in use year-round.

We supplied and installed the equipment. Here's what went into it.

How It Works

The ceiling-mounted hoops retract completely, clearing the floor for volleyball, events, or full-court games without obstruction. The motorized dividers split the space into separate courts or open it up for tournaments. Teams can run full-court games on one side while players drill on the other.

One iPad controls the entire system. Raise all 36 hoops. Lower a section. Adjust heights for younger players. No ladders, no cranks, no waiting.

Why This Project Matters

This isn't a private training facility for elite athletes. It's a community gym built to serve kids from every background — and it needed equipment that could handle that kind of volume.

36 hoops getting raised and lowered constantly. Thousands of kids cycling through every week. Dividers opening and closing between sessions. The equipment had to work every time, without fail.
